Q: What is a Virtual Assistant?
A.  The Virtual Assistant (or "VA") is an independent contractor who provides business support without being
physically present in your office or home.  Technological advancements have made it possible to perform support
services from remote locations via the internet and other means of electronic communication.  It is an industry that
has been around since the mid 1980's and used around the world.
Q.   What is the difference between a virtual assistant and an office assistant?
A.  Virtual assistants are entrepreneurs who partner with you to achieve your goals. In addition to clerical skills,
many VAs can provide a wider variety of services than the traditional assistant, by offering internet research,
remote calendar management, typing, transcription writing or other specialty skills. It also allows us to specialize
in the areas we find most interesting. For a  list of specialty services provided by VGTG, click

Another important difference (and PERK) between a VA and an office assistant is that your office assistant is an
employee whom you must pay taxes and provide benefits for, in addition to office space, furniture, equipment and
training. The VA is an independent contractor responsible  for payment of their own taxes and benefits, and so on.
Q. What are the benefits of hiring a VA?
A.   There are endless benefits to hiring a VA from VGTG:

  • A VGTG VA is interested in your business or organization and will often suggest ways of further assisting
    you in its growth.

  • A VGTG  VA has unlimited resources at her fingertips, with the ability to collaborate with other VAs in a wide
    variety of areas.

  • A VGTG  VA is an independent contractor, thereby eliminating salary or employment benefits.

  • The need for additional office space, equipment or furniture is eliminated.

  • No supervision or training is required. Your VGTG VA is a self-starter who has the skills necessary to
    perform the tasks needed.

  • You determine what you want your VGTG VA to do for you, and you pay only for the time spent on your
    assignments.

By hiring a Virtual Assistant...
You SAVE over $60,000.00 per year!

Although the Virtual Assistant's hourly rate is more than the employee's rate in the first place, you save the cost of benefits and overhead that would have to be applied to the new employee's wage. And, because Virtual Assistant's are usually more experienced, more efficient, and better connected than the employee, you'll need to devote far less time to the project to get the same results, only 480 hours a year versus 2,080 for the new employee.

**Remember, with a Virtual Assistant, you only pay for the time on task by the minute! No more paying for socializing, hour long lunches or frequent trips to the washroom.

Your employee's 8 hour day can be crunched into 3-4 hours with a Virtual Assistant.

Simply put, you should contract with a Virtual Assistant because it's more cost-effective and Virtual Assistants go above and beyond the normal assistant's duties to impact your own productivity. No task is too big or small for a Virtual Assistant to handle. Even if you only have 1 hour of work a month for a Virtual Assistant to do, a VA can (and will) do it.
